Ok let me set it straight. That used to be the case and sometimes still is. But thats the same with alot of other classes especially at hobby hut very few survived and that happens alot with nitro offroad. You show me a person who has never broke anything on the car and i will show you a guy who cant race. MT has grown sooooooooo much in the past year...even locally at dougs. its grown in size and inspeed.I can be one of the fastest guys some days at dougs w/ my revo, consistently putting down 22's and 23's. And when was the last time i broke at a points race at dougs??? I cant help it if ohter people do....thats theyre problem. Hell even some of the pros have recently bought mt's....adam drake and chris crews to name 2. Electric was the ticket because thats allthere was. Popularity you say is on electrics side like the ads in magazines...how many "electric Rc Magazines" have you seen, me i havent seen any but there sure are plenty of nitro ones.

No I never said electric is more popular than nitro I said that 8th scale is not the most popular form of racing. Most tracks are not even big enough for 8th scale.
How much of those RC Nitro mags goes to 8th scale? Most of them too me look like TMaxxes Savages and a ton of onroad stuff.

Pat, anywhere you go to a nitro race 1/8 is the biggest class. Electric needs to be revived by the pro series also, roar is a dying form of racing i hate to say it.

Don’t get me started on ROAR. It could be so much more than it is I say let it die and something better will come along.
The biggest most popular races in the US have nothing to do with ROAR. The snowbirds over 500 entries, Cleveland Indoor champs 400 entries, etc etc

Josh I wasn't talking about you back there, I am refering to the guys who hit the fence at the end of the straight on every lap, who hit the table top so hard they either end up on the straight or their car bottoms out so bad they loose 1 or 2 seconds regaining traction. For your first year racing I am impressed. These guys don't understand what proportional throttle is.
I don't think I have seen Brian drive 8th but of the lot of people I have seen run 8th your on the top of the list followed by Charlie then it rapidly falls off from there.
Never said 2wd electric buggy was harder to drive, I said it does more to make a good driver. The reason being they are so light nimble and react so quickly they really sharpen your reflexes and makes you feel the car. Bigger heavier vehicles just don't make you feel the track. There is no cheating on traction since there is no 4wd to use as a crutch to get fast lap times you have to really be in tune with the buggy on the track. 2wd electric truck is a very wattered down version of buggy they are much more forgiving. I have driven my T-Maxx with 2wd and now with 4wd and it is so much easier to drive 4wd that is what I mean by 4wd makes drivers lazy. My T-Maxx is only 8lbs and it feels very lazy and easy to drive, the larger trucks can only feel lazier.
I am 31 now and I have raced since I was 14 having driven everything except 8th buggy, heck I never seen an 8th buggy till I moved to Maryland 5 years ago. I have raced in Ohio, West Virgina, Virginia, Michigan, Pennsylvania, Conn, Georgia, California and Maryland and having never seen an 8th buggy till I moved to Maryland I think that qualifies my point that 8th scale buggy is as popular as alot of people in Maryland think it is. I will admit in Maryland and Eastern PA it is huge but pretty much no where else. Onroad's popularity dwarfs offroad btw and I happen to not like on road.
Oops almost forgot Flordia on that list.
